Emigration Museum in Gdynia invites you to create together a fabric in which every weave, every movement of the shuttle is a record of co-presence, encounters and interaction.

KROSNO – is a project in which we pose questions about home, community and a point of support in times of permanent mobility and global unrest. What is home in a world where people are constantly on the move? How do we build community in times of global unrest? Where does one find a point of support when everything seems fluid and impermanent? The gesture of weaving, in the context of contemporary migrations, becomes an act of defiance against disinheritance and an attempt to take root through a material, repetitive ritual.

Over the course of ten months – a symbolic period relating to a decade of the Museum’s existence – we invite anyone willing to participate to co-create the fabric. No skills are required – with simple instruction and the help of our staff, anyone will be able to make a piece of fabric, thus marking their presence and participation in the project.
