The author will present in a concise and accessible manner the history of Kashuby and Kashubians over the centuries, from their arrival in Pomerania in the 6th century to the present day. This will be an opportunity to learn about events and facts from the history of Kashubia, those known, but also those overlooked and unknown. You will also learn about important figures for Kashubians, those historical, but also those contemporary. You are cordially invited to the lecture.
Jacek Słomion (kash. Jack Słomión) – Kashubian activist, founder and president of the Kashuby Foundation, promoter of knowledge about Kashuby, its present day and history.
For many years involved in the life of the Kashubian community, organizer and stakeholder in many social initiatives and activities. He is the originator and co-author of the Internet Dictionary of the Kashubian Language, the largest and most comprehensive dictionary of the Kashubian language. It is on his initiative that the largest Kashubian flag is raised on the Gradowa Mountain in Gdansk every year on the occasion of Kashubian holidays. Jacek Slomion is also a photographer and photojournalist; his photos can be found in virtually all Polish media.
