Workshops of traditional Kurdish dance will be led by Borhan Ahmadi, after the meeting we invite you to a conversation with migrants for whom Poland has become a second home. They will talk about cultural differences and similarities, about their finding themselves in a new reality. They will present pieces of their cultures, images, stories and flavors.

The Kurdish ritual dance known as Helperke or Govend is a form of ritual. “Helper” means movement, which is a symbol of unity. A group of male and female dancers form an unbroken circle holding hands. The first person on the right leads the ritual and coordinates the dancers’ rhythmic steps while holding a handkerchief. During the workshop we will learn the basic steps and participate in a traditional Kurdish ritual.
